"Tracing Our Roots: Getting Started in Jewish Genealogy" by Joel Spector
Joel Spector from the Jewish Genealogy and Archival Society of Greater Philadelphia will discuss the basics of Jewish Genealogy and describe the variety of resources that can be used to increase your family’s genealogical knowledge. It will begin with suggestions for documenting information you already have, and provide a handout, “Ancestor Information” for that purpose. The session will then describe the various sources for family/genealogical information available both online and in person. We will discuss in detail the data contained in several resources and describe how it can be accessed. An extensive list of resources and suggestions, “Getting Started in Jewish Genealogy: Resources,” will be provided as well as offering tips on how you can become active in the Jewish genealogical community.
